First Vehicles With Next-Generation Apple CarPlay Announced Ahead of 2024 Launch

Aston Martin and Porsche have provided a sneak peek at the first vehicle dashboards that will support Apple's next-generation CarPlay experience, set to launch in 2024. This development was reported by Car and Driver and highlighted by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

Apple initially unveiled the next-generation CarPlay experience in June 2022, introducing more profound integration with vehicle functions such as climate controls, instrument cluster integration, support for multiple displays across the dashboard, a dedicated FM radio app, widgets, enhanced personalization, and additional features.

The new CarPlay interface is designed to be customizable, allowing for tailoring to each specific vehicle and automaker's brand identity, offering a more integrated and personalized experience for users.

When Apple initially revealed the next-generation CarPlay in 2022, committed automakers included Acura, Audi, Ford, Honda, Infiniti, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lincoln, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Polestar, Porsche, Renault, and Volvo. The recent addition of Aston Martin to this list indicates a continued expansion of automakers integrating the new CarPlay experience. However, it's currently unclear if there have been any changes or additions to this list since the initial announcement.
