Tragedy struck on Thursday afternoon in Lee County as one person lost their life in a collision involving a bus on U.S. Route 401 near Zena Lane.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that at 4:10 p.m., the driver of a 2007 Honda Accord collided with a 2018 Thomas bus. Both vehicles were heading north on U.S. Route 401 when the accident occurred. Regrettably, the driver of the Honda Accord succumbed to the injuries at the scene, while the bus driver emerged unharmed.
The highway patrol is actively investigating the details surrounding the collision. As of now, the identities of the drivers involved have not been disclosed. Updates to this article will be provided as new information becomes available.
