Authorities are conducting investigations in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire following the death of a 28-year-old man after an altercation on the grounds of a National Trust property.
The Lincolnshire Police reported that the victim was engaged in an assault at Belton House, near Grantham, on Thursday, within an area not accessible to the public.
Following the incident, the man returned home but later fell ill and subsequently passed away. A 29-year-old man, initially arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released on bail.
Authorities are actively conducting investigations at various locations in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, including Belton House.
A spokesperson for the police stated, "Part of our investigation is around establishing the exact cause of death, which will be done following a formal Home Office post mortem examination at some point next week."
Earlier statements from the police indicated that the individuals involved were acquainted, emphasizing that the incident did not involve National Trust staff or visitors to Belton House.
